What is the definition of a selfie
A selfie is a photograph that you take of yourself usually using a mobile device.
My definition of a selfie is a photo where you put yourself in the middle of a frame using a front facing camera.
Your photo may be real but the photo can not tell anyone your personality so you have to mind of what type of selfies you are taking because people may think differently.

Vivian Maier exhibition
Recently in class we have been watching a video on how Vivian's photos got discovered and more about her life. We then had to put ourselves in a curator's position and make an exhibition on some of Vivian Maier photos that she had taken.
As a group we decided that we was going to put the photos in little groups where they were all linked together and together as a whole most of them had some sort of shadows in it.
We choose the name 'shadowing Vivian Maier' becuase, of the word shadowing it makes us feel as if we were following her every footsteps, sort of like how inspectors follow the people they are trying to find information on in their cases.
We had a range of different pictures to choose from to put on our exhibition and had lots of different ideas on which ones we should use.Our first idea was putting them into to groups on what they were based on, the groups we had were: Shadows,self-portrait,mirror-portrait,landscape.We was then just going to put them all out onto the page but we decided to develop it and take out mirror portrait and only use the rest.
All of them were based around shadows but put into different sections where they linked together e.g. the one on the bottom left hand side we choose those two pictures because in both of them the had shadows in it and if you look closely you can see Maier or her shadow.
Being a curator was difficult because we had to figure out how to structure the photos and which photos we was going to use.
Curators need a range of different skills including:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of working with museum database an IT issues.
- Ability to organise, present and communicate messages effectively through design.
I might change the structure next time or maybe explain our work in more detail.

Feet selfies
Las Meninas
Before we got told about this painting we had to write down our thoughts and observations on this picture. I felt as if the people in it were royals because, of the type of clothes they were wearing and the room they were in.I thought that the painter was painting the people that was in the mirror in the back.
We got set a task to use loads of different types of the las Meninas photos and make them into our own including a selfies of us. These our the photos that I was going to include in my photo which I also included in my photobook.
